CODDLE’S MISSION
FOR DONCASTER HANDICAP? N.Z. MARE’S FINE GAI.LOP Received April 9, 10.20 p.m. SYDNEY. April 9. According to the Sydney Sun’s turf writer Cuddle’s work this week is more suggestive than ever of the Doncaster Handicap than the Sydney Cup. Yesterday she cantered strongly round the centre of the Randwick course accompanied by a hack, but to-day, ridden by McCarten, she galloped on the B grass track and came home from .the three furlongs against the wind in 37sec., showing plenty of dash and determination. Silver Ring bowled over half a mile at strong three-quarter pac r on the tan. He looked in first-class order, quite ready for weigbt-for-age races at Rand wick.
