GREATER UNITY SOUGHT
FREEZING WIKERS’ UNION CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON [ Per Presg Association. ] WELLINGTON. March 17. Representatives £rom the Freezing Workers’ Union throughout the Dn minion held a conference in the Wellington Trades Hall to day to consider proposals designed to bring about, a greater measure of unitv in the organisation of their affairs. The conference, which was presided over by Mr. F. J. Cleary, of Hastings, was opened by the Minister of Labour, Hon. H. T. Armstrong, who appealed for industrial unity. After a full discussion a committee was appointed to bring down a report as to how unity could best be obtained. The committee’s report was submitted later to the conference and ado[>ted unanimously. Jt was stated bv a spokesman for the conference that the basis adopted would give the men employ rd in works an opportunity to determine the form of organisation they would adopt in the future.
