The presence in the offering of a greatly increased proportion of the eoaih-cr descriptio-ns of wool of the crossbred type might have been expected to reduce tiie average price in the third sale, but the mean value of wool sold at Dunedin was in the vicinity of 12d per lb., giving an approximate pvr bale average off £l7, compared with £l5 5s 6d at the February sale. Computed in terms of these estimated receive on prompt day (March 25) a gross return from this third sale of about £476,000.
