WANGANUI CLUB ELECTRIC LIGHT SPORTS. WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S EVENT. It is expected that excellent entries will be received from the Wa.igmui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Ciui’ ’b open electric light sports ineeiiag at Cook’s Gardens next Wednesday mght. Already the club has received g.wd entries from several outside districts, including Alarion, Haweia and Feilding. In addition to a lengthy p.ograniine c-f athletic events there wiJ be a number of .sterling cycle races with the bv*st of the district’s talent competing. A number of field events, which have been popular with the spectaions this season, will be held. Athletics in Wanganui district this year hav-e been on the boom and the standard of performance has generally been higher than in past seasons.. The track at Cook’s Gardens has been maintained in good order throughout the season so that, given good weather, next Wednesday’u meeting should be an outstanding one for the club.
