"Sport anti General" Photo. A RELIC OF THE BARRETTS OF WIMPOLE STREET.—-No. 50 Wimpole Street, London, made famous as the home of the “Barretts of Wimpole Street,” is being pulled down. It was here that Elizabeth Barrett, the Victorian poetess, lay for many years on a bed of sickness. From the same house, just ninety years ago, she slipped out to marry Robert Browning. The plate seen in the photograph was affixed to the front of the house by the Society of Arts a number of years ago.
