PERSONAL. Miss J. Macdonald is visiting Wanganui. Mrs. Church is on a visit to her daughter in Hawera. Mrs. W. Durham, Wangaaui, is visiting Manga wcka. Mrs. P. Daubney is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. C. Travis, senr., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. G. Bailey, Taihape. Messrs. L. G. P. Mahoney and C. Oulsnam have returned from the Napier conference. Mr. S. Talbot, Hunterville, was a visitor to Mangawcka for the weekend.
CROQUET. Mangaweka were successful in their challenge for the McLeod Cup, held by the Taihape Croquet Club. The players were welcomed by the Taihape Club to a dainty afternoon tea. Mrs. Masters preesnted the c-up, and the Rev. E. W. Burgin suitably replied. Following are the results of the
games:—Rev. E. Burgin (2) defeated Mrs. Hill (3), 26—23; Mrs. L. Bailey (3A) defeated Mrs. Forsyth (44), 26—21; Mrs. A. Bailey (44) defeated Mrs. Ryan (5), 26—24; Mrs. D. Watkins (4 4) lost to Mrs. Marsh (44), 26—14. ~
