LINCOLN ELLSWORTH
FETED AT CANBERRA Received Feb. 20, 11.5 p.m. CANBERRA, Feb. 20. Mr. Lincoln Ellsworth, who was flown here from Melbourne in an R.A.A.F. ’plane, was entertained at a Commonwealth Cabinet luncheon. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, emphasised the cordial relations existing between Australia and the United States. “Our two countries! bordering on the Pacific have much in common,” said Mr. Lyons. “In our hands lies largely the maintenance of peace in the Pacific, and we feel we have a little more interest in the exploits of a representative of America than those of any other national.” Mr. Lyons added that Australia was pleased to take part in what might be regarded as the rescue of Mr. Ellsworth, particularly as it was some small return for the splendid gesture of the United States in so vigorously conducting a search for Flight-Lieutenant Ulm. Mr. Ellsworth, replying, expressed appreci ation of Australia's assistance.
