HAUPTMANN TO DIE
NO FURTHER REPRIEVES GOVERNOR’S DECISION [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright} TRENTON, Feb. 19. The months of his reprieve having ended, Hauptmann was again sentenced to die in the electric chair during the week ended March 30. Governor .Hoffman indicated that he would grant no further reprieves unless new evidence was produced. •Considerable interest was aroused last week when Mr. Samuel Leibowitz, the noted criminal lawyer who defended the Scottsboro negroes* was engaged for Hauptmann’s defence. Mr. Leibowitz declared that he would not undertake io help the prisoner unless he tells him the “whole truth.” Later the lawyer admitted that Hauptmann wouldjn no way change his story.
