THE WANGANUI SALE HEAVY YARDING AND GOOD COMPETITION Freeman R. Jackson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Wanganui sale: — Against an advertised yarding of 8000 shoe-p 10,500 came forward to a good attendance of buyers, despite a very wet day. Rain fell practically continuously throughout the day and detracted very much from the general appearance of the sheep and although the sale was a slow one prices realised were very good indeed, with practically a total clearance. Breeding ewes were eagerly sort after, but once again lambs were not so keenly competed for. This class of sheep showed the effects of -the rough day more so than grown sheep. Fat cattle recovered the drop of®last week and sold freely, in some instances graziers outbidding the butchers. We also held our first pedigree pig sale and although realisations may in many instances be satisfactory again in other instances prices were disappointing. However, considering it was our first sale, under bad weather conditions, the sale must be considered quite a good one. the entry being quite a heavy one. Porkers and baconers sold freely and store pigs were on a par with la.te rates.
