Debris on Beach.

Owing to the fresh in the Wanganui River bringing down a large quantity of driftwood this week, the Castlecliff Beach is strewn with drift wood and presents an uninviting appearance. From the wreck of the Cyrena right up to the cliffs at the northern end of the beach limbs of trees and, in places, whole trees have been washed ashore. During the past few days numbers of Castlecliff residents have been chopping up the wood and removing it to their homes, but still there is a large quantity to be cleared away.
