In issuing an appeal, entitled “ Thu Way to Peace,” the Archbishop of Canterbury ami York announces that leaders of Christian communities throughout Europe have agreed to send out immediately an appeal to their own people in the interests of peace. The archbishop emphasise that they are thus participating in an interna-

More ’ over, men’s natural instincts still cling I to the old de-eprooted suspicions and . jealousies. It is also plain that civilisation i inruflicient. as science, on which it re- i lies, is forgoing weapons, whi'-h may < accomplish its own destruction.
God’s Rule. Aecorfliuglv it must be equally plain that only the coming in of God’s rule ot' righteousness truth, honor, justice and brotherhood among men can ensure peace. Christians everywhere will doubtless unconsciously put their natural patriotic instincts, prejudices and emotions first, regarding the Kingdom of God as a tru< ideal, but remote from actual affairs. Hur any real loyalty to the Kingdom nf G"<| d-emande that the process should be reversed.
