TPYISTE FAREWELLED
TRIBUTES FROM CITY COUNCIL STAFF. Miss G. Clark, who is leaving the stall of the Wanganui City Council to be married, was met yesterday by her colleagues and presented with a dinner set, an accompanying spoon engraved with the city's coat of arms and a memorial signed by all the staff. Afternoon tea was served. Mr. G. Mureh, town clerk, presided, and in a happy speech, wished Miss Clark a long, happy and prosperous married life. He knew personally of her true worth as a member of the staff and of her amiable disposition. Mr. Mureh made the presentations to Miss Clark and extended to her the staff’s good wishes. Messrs. C- R. White (chief clerk), V. C. Rapson (assistant city engineer) and Mr. G. R. Holmes (superintendent of the tramway department) joined with the town clerk in wishing Miss Clark the best of good fortune in her married life.
