BOXERS’ DISPUTE
SETTLEMENT REACHED I WRIT TO BE DISK’D NT Received Jan. 11. 10 p.m. .SYDNEY, Jan. JI. B. van Klaveren, a Dutch boxer, haf signed an agreement with Charles Lucas, promoter, to take part in two further contests before March 8. An order consequently has been filed for a discontinuance of the writ issued on January 8. Lucas said: “I am satisfied our bitch, was due to a misunderstanding. Klaveren and I are the best, of f riends. ’ ’ A message published on January 9 and. dated January 8, slated that Mr. Justic Nicholas granted an application bv Charles Lucas, boxing promoter, for a writ against the Dutch | boxer B. van Klaveren, who, it was alleged, was leaving by the Mariposa f for America. It was reported that i van Klaveren, accompanied by h.s I wife, was escorted ashore a few mmI utes before the Mariposa sailed. Iha | application arose out, of a writ, for £2OOO issued by Lucas against van I Klaveren for alleged breach of conI tract. Lucas stated that van Klaveren I had agreed to take part in five more I contests.
