■ I CHILD DIES IN HOSPITAIi [ Tec Press Association. I ASHBURTON. Jan. * Josephine P.oothroyd, aged six, only daughter of Mr. J. I . Boothroyd, Allenton, died in hospital from burns received on Tuesday afternoon. Four children placed the powder from crackers on a block covered with paper and matches, which they ignited. Josephine A'.as leaning over the block whei the powder exploded, her dress catching fire. Her brother, aged ten. tried t; tear her clothes off.
