CONTINUATION OF PLAY [ Per Pre s Association. ] WELLINGTON, Jan. J. i Ch-ess championship games were com pletcd after adjournments. Burry v. Sevcriie: A queen’s pawn game, Scverne attacking on the queen side, Burry defended soundly and established a bishop at queen 6th. In breaking up Burry’s combination Severne suffered lhe loss of a pawn, but fortunately the bishops weie of opposite colours and a draw was accepted by Burry after <BB moves. Kelling v. Sevcrnc: Thin, was a cavukann game of open positions. Severne early established a pawn at kings sth. and'Kelling ’s exchange of queens and bishops improved Severne’s position. Later Severne won a pawn and the game c-n tire strength of a passed pawn on kings 7th. Abbott v. Armstrong: A Dutch game. Abbott soon made a strong attack on Armstrong's castled king. The latter s defence, caused exchanges which left him with a rook ami pawns against a bishop and pawns. Neither could gain advantage in the end so a draw was agieed to.-
