WOMEN’S WORLD TRACK CHAMPION SUCCESSFUL OPERATION. Received Dec. 29. 6.5 p.m , PRAGUE, Dec. 29. .Miss Zdenka Koubkowa, aged 24, the women’s woeld track champion, successfully underwent the operation to change her inro a man. and resumed work as a bookmaker's clerk. Sh-» dresser as a man but is now confronted with difficulties, including the alteration of her birth certificate and liability to conscription. Referring to the pending operation I recently, the Daily Telegraph’s Prague • correspondent recalled that Miss Kouh- ' kowa refused to be examined in 1934 ! bv a medical board in London which 1 was testifying to the effects of athletic* on women’s constitution She resigned Jin the spring from the Czech Women’s > Athletic Federation and did not. parj ticipate in events in J 935 for an uut revealed reason.
