The recently-appointed Vice-Consul for the United States of America, Air. G. B. Lane, has arrived in Wellington to take up his new duties. Air. R. W. McVilly was unanimously re-elected to the presidential chair at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association on Alon day night. Mr. Stanley Oliver, conductor of the Wellington Choral Union, and Airs. Oliver are leaving Wellington on December 17 to spend a holiday in Sydney and Melbourne. They propose to return to New Zealand in January. Mr. E. Bucholz, who has been chairman of the Wellington Stock Exchange for the past five years, is not seeking re-election. Last week he was the recipient of a presentation from members of the exchange. The Rev. D. D. AtcLachlan, of Ashburton, has been appointed Dominion publicity officer of the Boys’ Brigade movement, which, now numbers 2000 officers and boys. The Governor-Gen-eral, Viscount Galway, is patron of the New Zealand branch, which has now been established six years. The Governor of the New Zealand District of Rotary International, Dr. P. Stanley Foster, of ■Christchurch, is shortly to make a tour of the North Island Rotary Clubs. Dr. Foster will visit Wanganui on December 12 and will deliver an address at the weekly luncheon of the Wanganui Rotary Club.
