LIGHTWEIGHT LAMB FIRM BEEF MARKET (DULL Lamb market: Good quality lightweights arc scarce and lirin, other descriptions easier. Mutton market: Lightweight wetOiers and ewes; market quiet and steady, other descriptions easier, owing to small demand. Beef market: Frozen beef market dull, with very little business doing. N.Z. porker pigs: Prices have advanced slightly owing to good demand and shortage of spot stocks, but tendency easier at close of business. New Zealand baconcr pigs; Market quiet and unchanged. The above report was received on Satutrday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week ended November 29, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned and are for the representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores. Prices for the two previous weeks are also shown: — New Zealand sheep: Canterbury and North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 481 b and under, s}d (same); 481 b to 561 b, 4 5-Sd (4 5-Bd, 4 7-8 d); 571 b to 641 b, 4Ad (4 5-Bd, 4£d); 651 b to 721 b, 4 3-8 d (4Ad, 4 5-8 d). North’’lsland: 481 b to 561 b, 4 5-8 d (4 5-Bd, 4^d); 571 b to 641 b, 4Ad (4 5-Bd, 4id)’; 651 b to 721 b, 4 3-8(1 4 5-8 d). Ewes: 481 b and under. 3d (3d, 3 l-8d); 481 b to 641 b, 25-8 d (2. 5-Bd, 2fd); 651 b .to 721 b, 23-8 d (2Ad, 2id).
