STILL ACUTE
SINO-JAPANESE TENSION Received Nov. 13, 11.55 p.m. TOKIO, Nov. 13. r Pbe Sino-Japane»e tension is still acute. The Japanese Consul at Nanking has been instructed to address a “serious warning’’ to the Chinese Government against anti-Japanes-e agitation, while the Japanese Consul-Gen-eral at Shanghai has made presentations to the Chinese autho-rities about scattering anti-Japanese leaflets which read, “Down with the Japanese Imperialism! Let’s join the Soviets.” Five hundred armed Japanese bluejackets are reported to have landed at
Shanghai from the transport Shire Toko, but the Japanese deny that any forcible action is contemplated at Shanghai, declaring that the Shire Toko left Japan before tire present tension in accordance with the annual naval programme.
