GENERAL NEWS The Town Hall was taxed to its utmost capacity for the wrestling match between “Lofty” Blomfield and George Hopkins, on Tuesday evening. It is understood that the door receipts exceeded £BO, which proves conclusively that the public will patroyise the sport when prominent matmen are brought to Taihape. Earl McCready will probably figure in the next big bout at Taihape. The Rangers, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Cubs and Brownies will parade on Sunday, November 17 for the purpose of attending a church service in the Salvation Army Hall. A meeting of those interested in the theatrical revue which Mr W. Lints, the well-known producer, is presenting at the Town Hall in about a month’s time in aid of the funds of the Taihape District High School, was held on Tuesday evening, when over 40 people were present, including the headmaster of the Taihape District High School (Mr J C Whibley) and Mrs F. H. Barton and Miss P. Oldham. Mr Lints explained that it was his intention to present the “New Reveille” 1 and he went on to give an outline of the production which includes sketches, •choruses, ballets and ensembles, etcThe meeting was very enthusiastic, and arrangements were made for the fir?t rehearsal.
