THE VIENNA BOYS’ CHOIR
PLANS OPEN THIS MORNING. ! Box plans will be opened this morn- ; ing at the D.I.C. lor the performance 1 to he given by the famous Boys’ , Uhoir of the Imperial Chapel of I Vienna in the Wanganui Opera House ‘ next Tuesday evening. Prior to coming to New Zealand the choir has enjoyed a remarkably successful tour of Australia under the direction of Messrs J. and N. Tait. Commenting on the opening performance in Sydney, the Sydney Morning Herald said: “The Vienna Boys’ Uhoir won the affection of last night’s audience from the moment it came on the stage, so fresh and pretty and childish did the ' little singers look in their black vestments adorned with wfliite lace. When they began to sing friendly interest changed to delight. By the time the Mozart operetta, “Reconciliation,” appeared, everyone was in a state of complete effervescence and enchantment. It will be surprising if the choir does not draw the town during its brief season—last night’s attend--1 ance, a Town Hall almost completely ’ full—was an encouraging beginning.”
