LORD MAYOR’S SHOW
COUNTRY LIFE FEATURE. [ British Official Wireless. ] RUGBY, Nov. 10. A pageant of agriculture and country life formed the central feature of the Lord Mayor’s Show to-day. One of the exhibits in the procession which preceded the new Lord Mayor on his journey to make his statutory declaration of office at the Law Courts was a complete pack of hounds from the Ohl Berkeley Hunt. Probably never before has such a spectacle been seen in London streets. In addition to the interests of agri culture and the work and sport of the countryside, the procession included, as usual, a large number of bands and representatives of the armed forces of the Crown. Although there were heavy rain showers throughout the morning which threatened to spoil the show, the -how, the weather improved when the procession began, and the route was lined with vast crowds. Children were in a majority. IMPORT DECREE CONTROL OF ITALIAN COMMERCE Received Nuv. .12, 11.5 p.m. ROME, Nov. 12. \n import decree includes iron, steel, cotton, wool, silk, films, wireless goods, fresh meat, fish, butter, oils, greases, cereals, precious stones, chemicals and manures. The effect is to place the country’s industrial and commercial life more than ever under the Government’s control.
