BALLOT AMONG STUDENTS VAKIEn OF QUESTIONS AGGRESSION AND THE LEAGUE The student committees acting under the auspices of the New Zealand Uni versify Students’ Association have issued a ballot paper with the object of ascertaining tlhe opinion of university students upon the question of peace and war. “Would you take part in a war I to assist Great Britain, no matter what I the cause of occasion, to which Great Britain had committed herself? “If tibe League of Nations declares i a State an aggressor (a) would you be in sympathy with economic and nonmilitary measures against, it.?; (b) if these failed, would you participate in a war against it? “Are you in favour of an international police force controlled by the League of Nations, in place of national j armies? “Are you in favour of an all-round reduction of armaments by inter j national agreement? “Arc you in favour of the reduction j of armaments by the British Empire, i irrespective of the action of other | countries? “Would you oppose the revival ot | compulsory military training in peace time in New Zealand? “In the event of war to-morrow would you (a) voluntarily enlist (or urge your friends to do so)?; (b) undertake other war work?; (c) oppose the introduction of conscription? “Should the manufacture and sale of armaments for private profit be prohibited by international agreement? “Do you think that the overthrow of capitalism offers hope of permanent peace? “Do you think that the development of the League of Nations offers hope of permanent peace? “Do you think that the genera] acceptance of Christianity as exemplified, j for example, in the Sermon on the Mount, offers hope of permanent peace?
