Driven 1o desperation in the circumstances uf her married life, a woman, in her early thirties, walked on board the Remuera in London with a gang way pass. She hid in a pantry and re 'paled herself a few hours after leaving Plymouth. Moved bv sympathv the passengers raised over £4O and permission was obtained by wireless to carry her as a passenger. She was also lavishly supplied Avith clothing. Telling her story in Auckland this morning, she said that her home was at Croydon, Sydney. She followed her husband to England in May last. He had a mental collapse and was now an inmate of an institution. She worked in an East. End hotel and suddenly de < ided to board the Remuera. She is continuing to Sydney next. week.
