PRIMA DONNA’S ROLE STRANGELY TRUE COVENT GARDEN INCIDENT Received Sept. 27, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 27. Just before, Miss Eva Turner, English prima donna, took the stage to sing the tragic role of Agatha in the German opera “Der Freischultz” at Covent Garden, her 7 7-y ear-old father, who was sitting in the stalls, collapsed and died. It was decided not to tell Miss Turner and, unaware of her tragic loss, she wont on and scored one of the biggest triumphs of her career. Ju the last act Agatha waits for her bridal bouquet but finds the box contains a wreath. “It is an omen,’’ exclaims Agatha, proving strangely true for Miss Turner. As the curtain was rung down a brother, who had been informed of the tragedy by telephone, approached his sister ami broke the news of their father’s death.
