CHILDREN’S GARDEN CIRCLE

Dear Gardeners. — Yes, I can truthfully call you all “gardeners” after the wonderful dis [iluy you all made at our First Great Show. To say it was a great success would not do justice to the wonderful display you all helped to make. I am proud of you all. Our committee is proud of your. Our parent body—the Suburban Society—is proud of you, and most of all the people of Wanganui are proud of you. You arc indeed a credit to the (.’ity of Wanganui. To you all who assisted with donations, gifts, or helped in any way, 1 send you my thanks and can assure you 1 will work harder than ever to make our ircle the best of its kind in the world. To yon all, please accept my thanks for your wonderful help. You will all be pleased to hear that not only was it a success ns a show—but it was also a success financially and we are pleased to be able to tell members and helpers that a profit of over £5O was made. This should greatly help to give to members some splendid gifts for their gardens. Again, to one and all my very best thanks, and may the next year be a very happy one for all members of the C.G.C.—Ever your friend, “CARNATIO.”

As educational classes will soon be formed it is important that all new members read the “Circle’’ notes which appear in the “Chron icle’ ’each week. Wo wish all our new members every success and a happy time with the Children’s Garden Circle. SPECIAL THANKS. Although it would be hard to name all who assisted to make the show such a success. I feel I must not let the occasion pass without asking all members to join with me in an expression of thanks to our secretary, Mr. A. WeberTodman, who worked many months in assisting to make the show such a success. Now children, three big, big cheers for our hard-working secretary. LETTERLAND. “Purple King.”—You should have better results with your pansy seed. The germination was splendid, instruction classes will commence again shortly. “Water Lily.”—We are very sorry to hear that “Wattle Girl” is so ill. We all hope she will soon be well again.
