PIGEON FLYING
CENTRAL CLUB RACE FROM TAUMARUNUI A flock race from Taumarunui, an airline distance of 73 miles, was cv.«dwe ted by the Central Pigeon-flying Club over the week-end, when a hamper of nineteen birds was opened in ideal weather. The birds made very good time and little separated some of the entries when the clocks were exhibited. Mr W. Kerwin’s bird returned the best time in a verv dose race, registering Ihr. 25min. 46sce. for the journey. The following are the detailed results:— W. Kerwin’s First Flight, 1510.31 yds. per min 1 C. Thetford’s “Likely Fiver,’’ 1525.45yds 2 G. Webby’s “Silver Scorn,” 1525.33 A. Watson’s entry, 1519.73 4 T. Thomson’s “L’ttle Dot.” 1515 . 5 T. Kenny’s “ Image,” 1500.38 .. .. 6 R. Farrell’s “ Happv, ” 1499.70 ... 7 F. McPherson’s ”120. ■’ 1490.18 . .. 8 P. Farrell’s “Handsome Havre,” 1495.51 .. 9 W. Loveridge’s “Koval Blue .. .. 10 There were nine other entries and The winner’s time was Ihr. 25min. 4Gser.
