MAGISTRATE’S COMMENTS. [ Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, Sept. 9. “He has got to be taken off th® road,” .said the magistrate (Mr. Hunt) to-day when informed that William Arthur Hawkins, aged 35, salesman, who pleaded guilty to a charge of intoxication when in charge of a motoi van, had been fined thrice before for similar offences. “T think he. had better get another job,’’ said the magistrate, when Hawkins’ counsel said that he worked with a. van for his living and was willing to take out a prohibit ion order. “If I don't put him off the road,” continued the magistrate, “lhe insurance companies will probably do so. He will be lined £lO and his licence cancelled, and no other is to be issued for tw o yea r>.'
