RIFLE SHOOTING There was a poor attendance of members at the weekly practice held on the Ohakea Miniature Rifle Club’s range on Monday night and the scoring was very low. Two possibles were recorded, one by I’. Ellery and the other by G. Wiggins. The best scorers were P. Ellery, G. Wiggins and J. Simpson, with .137 each, but the rest shot well below the usual form. Lammas, 54, 64, US.’ The Ohakea Club have next challenge for the McKelvie Cup and will endeavour to lift it from the Bulls Club within the next neck ' QUEEN CARNIVAL DANCE Tho Bulls Town Hall was packed on Monday night, when the Ohakea and Carnarvon Hockey Clubs held a social and dance in aid of their queen candidate, Miss Joyce Pedersen, visitors being present from Sanson, Tangimoana, Carnarvon, Rongotea, Marton and surrounding districts. For non-dancers cards were played and in the ladies’ section Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. K. Wilson tied for first place. In the play-off Mrs. Stevens was successful in winning. The winner of the men's section proved to be Mr. K. Wilson. Two Monte Carlo ■waltz.' , s were run. the first being won by Miss F. Andersun and Mrs. J. Frecklington ami the second by Miss Joy Ellery and Mr. C. Lyons. The dance music was supplied b\ a professional orchestra from Feilding and extras were played by Miss F. Amierson. Messrs. P. Collins, L. Brain well, H. 801 l ami M. Winiatn. A novelty dance was won by Miss B. Stevens and Mr. H. Mansell ami a competition was won by Mrs. S. Quin lan. of Carnarvon. The M's.C. for the ox cuing w ere Messrs. K. Bailey mid A.. Pedersen. PERSONAL Mr.'. \. V. Matthews is spending a fortnight's holiday in Auckland, visiting relations. Miss N. Samson, of Wanganui, is the guest of Miss W. Bailey. Mrs. Childs and her two daughters, from Wellington, are tin* gmsts of Mr. and Mrs. J. Capstiek.
