The All Blacks were welcomed by Sir James Parr and Mr. Cecil Wray, and representatives of tho Home unions. All are remarkably well after a smooth trip. Most c«f them put on weight and a number are bigger men, six pounds over playing weight despite systematic shipboard training, including practice with a special scrum machine. Players enjoyed unrestricted diet but were cut down on smoking. They are anxious to bo in the best of condition for the opening of the tour at Devonport and want to settle down to serious training. Alter several welcoming lunches and dinners they will leave on Thursday for Newton Abbot!, where they have booked au entire hotel. In the opinion of critics the forwards look on the heavy side but. a number of backs aro exceptionally light.
