Damage to the extent, of £20,000 was sustained, and a guard seriously injured, when two empty passenger trains, which were returning to Melbourne, collided at Seymour, 64 miles out of Melbourne, early to-day. The first train stopped at the signal at Seymour. The following train crashed into the rear, smashing three carriages and one xan to matchwood and greatly damaging the engine. Thomas ALiddlin, the guard who was seriously injured, leapt out of the train nt the moment of impact after receiving a warning from the signalman, who raced along the track knowing that a smash was imminent.
