At the conclusion of the eighteenth round of the chess contest the leaders were: United States, 51A points; Poland, 50A; Sweden, 49A; Hungary, 48. The British Empire was tenth with 34A. The final will be played on August 31. AMERICA WINS FINAL. Received Sept. 1, 7.15 p.m. WARSAW, Aug. 31. In the chess final the United States was first with 54 points, Sweden second with 52A, Poland 52, Hungary 51, and England twelfth with 37.
