N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES RESULTS AT WELLINGTON ( Per Pres, Association. J Wellington, Kept. i. The Now Zealand Basketball Asso (itttion’s tournament was concluded on Saturday. Wellington retained the New Zealand £up, winning the A Grade contest. Otago were runners-up, talcing the Annie Brown Cup. In the B Grade South Canterbury and Southland Minor drew in the final for the President’s Shield. The interIsland game was won by South Island by 18 to 8. The final points in the grade competitions were: First Grade.—Wellington 14, Otago 11, Auckland 9, Southland 8. Carter bury 8, Hawke’s Bar 4, Waikato, Poverty Bay 0. Second Grade.— First Section: Southland Minor 11. Ashburton 10, M-'-a-watu S, Wairoa 6, Bush 4. Marlborough 3, North Auckland 0. Second Section: South Canterbury 11, Wellington Minor 12, Taranaki 10. Wairmapa 3, Rotorua 6, West Coast 4. Nelson Wanganui 0. The inter-island game was a thrilling one, South leading 10 to 5 at hnif time to maintain their superiority an? win by 18 to 8. r In the first grade Auckland 11 b'n*South Island 8.
