CAR OVERTURNS

OCCUPANTS’ LUCKY ESCAPE ( Per Press Association ) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 26. Six schoolboys had a miraculous escape from serious injury and even death late yesterday afternoon, when a saloon car, driven by Wynn Davies, a New Plymouth Boys’ High School pupil, turned over ou the main road, tho hood collapsing. Of the six occu pants three aro from the Auckland Grammar School and were taking part in the quadrangular Rugby tourna ment. They were 'returning from North Egmont when the car developed a wheel wobble as it reached the crest of a hill. The driver completely lost, control, and the car crossed tho road twice and struck a severe bump. It leapt into the air and turned over, lauding flat on the hood, which was totally demolished. All of the six occupants suffered severely from shock, but only one received minor abrasions.
