RUGBY FOOTBALL. TE KAWAU SUB-UNION. The monthly meeting of the Manage incut Committee of the To Kawau Sub Union was held on Tuesday evening. The president, Mr. A. N. Moreom, presided and the following delegates were present: Messrs. J. H. Smith, C. E. Eglinton, H. 11. Simmonds, J. Q. Cam cron, W. A. Davidson and the secretary, Mr. F. W. Tostevia. Before the commencement of the business, the president, Air. A. N. Morcom, referred to the deaths of Messrs. L. Moffatt, R. Boswell and Mrs. T. Richardson. As a mark of respect all members stood in silence and the secretary was instructed to write to the relatives expressing the sympathy of the sub-union. A lengthy discussion arose out of the communication received from the New Zealand Rugby Union i.» connection with the remit forwarded to that union. The New Zealand Union stated that their reply had been forwarded to the Alanawatu Rugby Union. It was resolved that if r.he answer is not satisfactory a deputation consist ing of the chairman, U. Eglinton. H. H. Simmonds and the secretary wait on the Alanawatu Rugby Union in an enden vour to come to a more satisfactory understanding. The secretary wan instructed to con vey a vote of thanks to Mrs. F. W. Tosteviu and Miss I’. Fagan for muk ing wreaths. i’he treasurer’s report stated that the financial position of the union revealed a debit ba'anee of appro.xi mately £lO. The question of holding a ball lo assist the union’s funds was discussed, it being decided to hold a ball if siilficieut support was forthcoming.
