WANGANUI CLUB I CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST. THIRD QUALIFYING ROUND. The third and final qualifying round of the Wanganui Golf Club’s championship will be played at Belmont on Saturday and in conjunction with it the final round of the Powdrell Cup, which is held by the player with the best aggregate gross score for the three rounds. J. Goss leads with 151, being three strokes ahead of B. Haworth 154. Then follow 1. Saunders and M. Duncau 157 and F. C. Hutchison 158. It appears as if the Captain’s Prize will go to one of the long handicap players this year. Although T. Wilberfoss led in the first round with a net 6(5, R. Lindesay coming in with a net 65 in the second round now leads with 133, two strokes better than T. Wilberfoss, 135. There is then a drop of live strokes to J. B. Baird J4U, E. Cole and J. Purcell 142, M. A. Kitchen and J. Goss 143 and P. {Saunders 144. Consolation Handicap.—This year the consolation handicap will be limited to the 32 players with the lowest aggregate net scores in two out of three qualifying rounds and who do not qualify tor any of the championships or are not still in the Imlay Cup or the Foursomes Championship.
