MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. The weekly shoot of the Ohingaiti Miniature Rifle Club was held on Wednesday night, there being a good attendance of members. The competitions were advanced another stage and are at an interesting point. There are now three marksmen, F. Fu.ton, J. Goodwin and R. Miller two legs in for the Gower trophy and in the Hammond Cup (Handicap) competition the following fill the first four positions:—A. C. Lewer, F. Graham, T. L. Hammond and A. Charles. The leading position in the championship competitions (A grade, president’s medal and B grade, T. L. Hammond’s trophy) at present show as follows: A grade— T. L. Hammond, F. Graham, A. C. Lewer and A. Charles. 4 B grade.—A. J. McDonald, R. Worsw. fold T. Mercer, H. Pritchard. The present sweepstake competition will finish next Wednesday and about five men have a chance of winning. FOOTBALL CLUB. today’s match. Much interest will be taken in the game to be played on the local ground to-day between the local team and Haleombe. Halcombe are leading in the competition and Ohingaiti arc runners-up and in addition to this the Bengal Cup will be at stake, Ohingaiti being the presen( holders. ■ rhe local team will be ul.iked from Hie following:—W. The football club’s annual ball to be held 011 Augiisl 20 will be, as usual, one of the high ights of the dancing season and a general meeting will be held on Monday evening to finalise arrangements. BIBLE CLASS RALLY. The local Bible class were hosts at a most enjoyable rally held in the Town Hall on Thursday night when between 60 and 70 young people assembled. Visitors were present from Rewa, Rangiwahia, Mangaweka, Hunterville and Levin. The proceedings were in the hands of Mr. E. Weston and Revs, ■'array and Burgin(Mangaweka) and Smale (Hunterville), were present. Items were given by Miss Betty Weston and a very nice supper was served. What was voted the best rally yet, terminated with vespers and the members of the local class are to bo congratulated upon the efficient organisation displayed.
