DAIRY COMPANY SECRETARY resignation tendered GROWTH OF WHENUAKURA 00. (From Our Own Correspondent) PATEA, Aug. 10. After acting as sixretary with the Whenuakura Dairy Company for 33 years, Mr. K. W. Hamerton will sever his connection at the end of lhe present year. This decision was made known at the annual meeting of suppliers to-day, when the chairman (Mr. F. Parsons) referred to Mr. Hamerlon’s long service. He stated that the present secretary had felt it time to relinquish his work for the company. It was a long time for anyone to serve a company and to serve it as well as Mr. Hamerton had done. He had seen lhe company through all trials and troubles, and had always stood up to his job. which was no easy matter with 139 suppliers to attend to. He Lad seen the company grow from J 5 suppliers to the present large number, acting as secretary since the secund 5 ear uf its formation. He had succeeded Mr. J. K. Thompson as secretary, and since then had carried out his work faithfully and conscientiously. He moved that the company place on record its appreciation of Mr. Hamerton’s services for the past 33 ' ea rs. After the resolution had been carried with heart v applause, Mr. Hamerton thanked them for their appreciation of his work- He bad tendered his resignation with real regret, as he had seen the company grow from practically nil to what it was now. During those 33 years, the dairy industry had undergone many changes, mostly for the best, and great progress bad been made, which had all been receded in their own company, which had also now one of the newest and most up-to-date factories. A secretary’s job was no easy unc, and was expected to be done smilingly. He had no regrets for anything, however, and he apparently had met with the approval of the directors, many of whom he had served.
