FOR. AUCKLAND AMBULANCES ( Per Press Association. ) AUCKLAND, Aug. 6. Experiments with a view tu equipping the whulc fleet of seven Bt. John ambulances in Auckland with shortwave radio receiving and transmit ting sets, to increase the efficiency of the service, are at present being conducted. It is hoped that in the near future tho first ui the installations will be completed and ready for use. The ambulances will be the first .motor vehicles in New Zealand to be fitted with radio receivers and transmitters. *lt is stated that although the practice is general overseas, particularly with pulice patrol-cars, the equipment to be fitted on the ambulances is of a type that will permit the driver to bo constantly tuned in to headquarters.
