At the annual meeting of suppliers of the Westmere Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., a resolution of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr H. C. Taylor and the late Mr J. Murray. They have been suppliers of the factory for many, many Mr. C. IL White, assistant town <derk, leaves for Wellington to-day by the noon express. Mr. White, who is president of the Wanganui Amateur Athletic Club, has been apponted manager ot the New Zealand cross-country team which will compete at Sydney on August 17 and at Alelbourne on August 24. The New Zealand party will travel on the Alaraina, which leaves Welling ton on Friday for Sydney. Air. .1. 11. Keoeiig, .1,1’,, celebrated his 80th birthday yesterday. j|() has resided in Wanganui for over i’ll years ami has been in retirement for the past 20 years. Yesterday's occasion was marked by Mr. Keesing being the re cipient of numerous congralulations, a large number of friends calling on him at his home in St. Hill Street. Among those present were Messrs. J. 11. Bur net, D. McFarlane. A. Doig. A. G. Big nell, J. Richardson, A. B. Christen sen, (r. F. Gordon. J. McFarlane, Spriggens, ami L. J. B. Chapple.
