CANECUTTER’S STRIKE
TROUBLE IN QUEENSLAND Received Aug. 5, 11.5 p.m. BRISBANE, Aug. 5. Canccu iters in the Cairns and Mourilyan districts numbering 480, declared a strike owing to the industrial court refusing the men’s application that all cane harvested this year be burned as a protection against “Weils disease.” About 150 farmers, whose crops are w r orth £25,000, are involved. A strong body of police has been sent to the districts.
