Members of the committee of the miiitary ball held recently in Danne | virke were charged before the magis y Irate, Mr. Stout, with selling beer and wine without being licensed to do so. Defendants were two officers and othei noii-commissioned officers. The facts arc, briefly, that liquor has bought by the defendants and served as* re fresh ments at lac dance without, charge to the patrons, who had paid admission. It. was admitted that the liquor wan'd sold for the purpose of profit, but was dispensed to popularise the damp. Defendants pleaded guilty aud e:u b were fined £ I and cost s Ils.
