MR. T. GRAY’S DEPARTURE
COMPLIMENTARY CONCERT. The compliment ary concert. to be tendered to Mr. T. Gray in the Opera House next Sunday evening promises to be a mo.-l interesting and successful function. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. AV. J. Rogers), and Mr. AV. A. Veitch M.P., have kindly consented lo be pre sent and will say a few wurd> of fare well to Mr. Gray, who is leaving for Wellington about the beginning of next week. Much interest has been aroused amongst old bandsmen and band enthusiasts, by the formation of what will be the nearest approach lo a military band possible to get in Wanganui. The AV.W.C. Regimental Band will be aug mented by the addition of clarinets, flutes, saxophones, I'rench horns, string basses, cellos and Glockenspiel making a total of 45 to 50 performers. It is plea iug to know that not one instru mentalist has refused lo assisl al '.his concc"l, which speaks well for Mr. Gray’s popularity amongst musicians of the city.
