THE CIVIC THEATRE “AFTER OFFICE HOURS” A personal attraction as powerful as the surge of the ocean tides, and a bright sophistication in common. These are the elements which will place the new co-starring team of Constance Bennett and Clark Gable in “After Office Hours,” among the leading film couples of 1935, in the opinion of the director, Robert Z. Leonard. Gable and Miss Bennett, who have never co starred before, are together in a new Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer production which Leonard describes as an “active and romantic” story wherein the editor of a great newspaper falls in love vvi . society reporter and solves a murder mystery. The film opens to-day at the Civic Theatre, and will also be shown on Monday. There is a splendid supporting programme, which includes two beautiful colon:ed films, “Girl Trouble’’ and “Gypsy Nights” and also newsreeis, etc, TUTAENUI HOCKEY DANCE A very successful function was held by the Tutaonui Hockey Club in the Tutacnni Hal] on Wednesday night, iho hall looked very gay with the fancy costmes and the bright streamers used to decorate it. The first prize for the men’s costume was won by Mr. B. Jefferson and the ladies’ prize was won j by Miss M. Klatt. Mr. Jefferson, as I “a lady,” caused much hilarity among the assembly. The Monte Carlo was I won by Miss N Paterson and Mr. K. | Hammond. Wiatara’s Orchestra ren dered delightful music which the dancers evidentiy appreciated by’ the crowded floors. The cake, that was being raffled was won by Miss 1. Mcludoe.
