Prospects lor the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting at Trentham coming to a successful conclusion ap pear bright, for fields are again of good dimensions and the weather outlook is splendid. There are three .jumping events, these including the July Steeplechase, the Winter Hurdles, and the Talavera Hurdles. The track at Trentham is reported to be drying up, though it is sure to be fairly heavy. Horses likely to be well supported in their respective engagements to-day are as follow: Talavera Hurdles.—Hunting Jay, Prince Vai. Novice Handicap.—Debhanq Isaacs, Colombo.
