ST. JAMES’ THEATRE Bringing to life thp famous characters in Damon Runyon’s celebrated story, “Little Aliss Marker,” Adolphe Monjou, Dorothy Dell, Charles Bickford and Shirley Temple, together with a host of other taleuted players, are featured in the film version of “Little .Miss Marker,” which opens at the St. James Theatre on Saturday. In “Little Miss Marker” Runyon has written a charming and delightful story, and Produced B. P. Schulbcrg, with the aid of Director Alexander Hall and a great cast, of players, has .made a thrilling production of it; full |of laughs, tears and delightful surprises. The picture tells how Menjou, embittered, friendless and mean, is forced to adopt a little girl originally left with him as security for a bet. As time goes on the curly-headed little tot teaches him how to be tender and loving and simulates him to win back his se.f-respect ami honour. In a startling. rapid-firt climax he sacrifices a fortune to saw the child from death and wins the love of Dorothy Dell, whom he had been worshipping at a distance for years. The supporting cast includes Lynne Overman. Erank McGlynn, Sr., Sam Hardy, Warren Hymer and Tammany Yoon"
