MYSTERY STILL UNSOLVED POLICE STILL HOPEFUL [ Per Press Association. J HASTINGS, July 8. The mystery of the murder of Joan Rose Rattray is apparently uo nearer solution than last week. Tins morning the police stated that ttie work of taking statements and sitt’ng information contained in them was still being pursued. Fifty or sixty resietits in various pails of the district La e made statements to the police, and unless some unexpected clue presents it:-ell' the solution of the crime will be reached, if reached at all, only i»y a painstaking analysis of the null erous itntenients made tu the police. Several persons have been interviewed in the belief that they might have had a connection with the crime, but the interviews have brought no results. The police are far from giving up hope that they will eventually discover a clue from which to carry the investigations to a satisfai cry end.
