CHEESE QUIET The London butter market was quiet last week, but New Zealand salted closed steady at 88s to 89s a cwt., Is below the closing rates of the previous week, but 25s above the rates ruling a year ago. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1169 tons, compared with 1378 tons for the previous week and 1478 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries amounted to 1297 tons, against 1687 tons a year ago. New Zealand butter in store totalled 7012 tons, including 341 tons ex the Mataroa compared with 7430 tons tor the previous week and 11,834 tons a year ago. Australian stored butter amounts to 8893 tons, against 9170 tons for the previous week and 8915 tons a year ago. The cheese market was rather quieter last week, with a slight drop in prices. English selected cheese is now practically cleared from the market. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 18,679 crates, against 19,576 crates a year ago, while the quantity in store totals 171,636 crates, including 15,210 crates ex the New Zealand Star and Mataroa, against 156,497 crates a year ago. Canadian deliveries totalled 2142 boxes, against 4181 boxes a year ago, while the quantity in store was 46,313 boxes, compared with 57,117 boxes a year ago.
