VISIT TO AUSTRALIA. NOMINATION OF PLAYERS. [ Per Press Association 1 WELLINGTON, May 29. Preparations for the Maori team's tour to Australia this season were further advanced at a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Kugby Union to-night. Mr. W. J. Wallace was appointed to act as co-manager of the tour with Mr. King! Tahiwi, and Mr. R. Brian was appointed as baggage-man. The Marlborough, tiorowhenua and Wairoa Unions protested that they had not been advised of the selection Ox players from their unions for the Maori trial match at Hamilton, it was decided to reply that in future thu New Zealand Union would advise the unions concerned of all players selected for Maori matches. It was decided to request all unions to send in to the New Zealand Union by June 15 the nominations of players fit and available to make the tour with the Maori team to Australia. It was decided to request the selectors of the Bay of Plenty, East Coast, Poverty Bay and Hawke’s Bay Unions to forward the nominations of Maori players for the Prince of Wales Cup match at Gisborne on June 22 to Mr. T. French, Gisborne, and to ask the selectors of the South Island Unions to forward nominations for the South Island team for the match to Mr. Ned i’arata, of Waititi. Nominations are to be forwarded by June 15.
