Heavy Mangel Crop. Two large mangels, each weighing 161 b., were gathered recently at Pukekohe. They arc of the Yellow Globe variety, and are from a three-acre crop grown by Air. W. H. Alexander. In a normal season 161 b. would not be considered an extraordinary weight for a mangel, but owing to the remarkablv dry summer Ihe district; experienced, mangels at this size arc at present verv rare. The whole crop >s a heavy one.
